Description

A nostalgic dessert layering sweet strawberry gelatin, creamy sour cream, and tangy pineapple for a balanced, crowd-pleasing treat with crunchy pecan accents.

Ingredients

Strawberry Jello, 6 oz package
Boiling water, 1 cup
Frozen sliced strawberries, 2 cups
Canned crushed pineapple, 20 oz (well-drained)
Sour cream, 1 cup
Pecans, chopped, 1/2 cup

Instructions

Dissolve Jell-o in boiling water per package instructions.
Stir in half the drained pineapple and frozen strawberries.
Pour into a serving bowl and chill 1 hour until partially set.
Spread sour cream over the surface.
Dot with remaining pineapple pieces.
Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
Chill 1 hour 15 minutes to fully set.

Notes

Use canned pineapple—fresh pineapple contains enzymes that prevent gelatin from setting properly
Frozen strawberries will macerate as they thaw, adding juicy texture
For a richer flavor: use vanilla sour cream
Serve chilled; store leftovers in fridge up to 48 hours
