Description

A delightful dish that brings the flavors of Hawaii right to your backyard with juicy chicken marinated in a sweet and savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • Chicken (any cut)
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown sugar
  • Ketchup
  • Rice vinegar
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Ginger (grated)
  • Sesame oil
  • Pineapple juice
  • Green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and pineapple juice in a bowl to create the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken in a resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and marinate for at least 1 hour (up to overnight) in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink inside.
  6. If cooking in the oven, preheat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.

Notes

For more flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
