Description

A delightful blend of flavors with juicy chicken thighs marinated in a rich soy and garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp potato starch
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp neutral oil for pan frying
  • 8 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 2 stalks green onion (green and white parts separated)
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock (or substitute with water and chicken bouillon)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Green onion (green part) for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Soy Garlic Chicken Sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth and set aside.
  2. Dry chicken thighs with a paper towel and coat in a mixture of potato starch, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add chicken and fry for approximately 7 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic, the white parts of the green onions, and red chili flakes for about 3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the prepared sauce to the pan and cook, stirring, for about a minute until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return chicken to the pan, coat with the sauce, and let it cook together for about five minutes.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken thighs in the sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the spice level according to preference.
