Description

Savory muffins combining garlic and rosemary with a fluffy, bread-like texture, perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, minced garlic, and rosemary to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Divide the dough into muffin-sized portions and place in greased muffin tins.
  8. Allow to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle coarse sea salt on top and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using fresh rosemary and ensuring proper kneading for better texture. Don’t skip the sea salt topping for contrast.
