Description
Delicious baked ham and cheese sliders encased in soft, sweet rolls; perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls (12-count)
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 pound thinly-sliced deli ham (such as Black Forest)
- 1/4 pound deli-sliced sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 pound deli-sliced Swiss cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1-1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Pinch of kosher salt (if needed)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Stir well and set aside.
- Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven’s broiler to high and toast the buns for 1-2 minutes.
- Set oven to 350°F (or 325°F for darker dishes) and prepare a baking dish with cooking spray.
- Spread more than half of the Dijon-mayo mixture onto the rolls. Layer with cheddar cheese, followed by ham, and then Swiss cheese. Top with remaining mayo mixture on the top halves of the rolls.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, and salt. Pour over assembled sliders.
- Cover with foil and let rest for 5 minutes, then bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before cutting into individual servings and serve hot.
Notes
Monitor the broiling step closely to avoid burning the rolls. Experiment with other cheeses or herbs for additional flavors.
