Yogurt Tempered Sandwich

Description

A unique twist on the classic sandwich with a creamy hung curd filling and spices, grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup curd
  • ½ onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp green chilli (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp coriander (chopped)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 4 bread slices (brown)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 8 curry leaves


Instructions

  1. Place a sieve over a bowl, line it with muslin cloth, and add 1 cup curd to drain excess water for a few hours to make hung curd.
  2. Transfer hung curd to a bowl and mix in the chopped onion, green chilli, coriander, salt, and oregano.
  3. Spread the mixture on one slice of brown bread and cover with another slice. Repeat for remaining slices.
  4. Heat a tawa, add oil, mustard seeds, and curry leaves for tadka.
  5. Place the sandwiches on the tawa and roast until golden brown and crispy, flipping to cook both sides.
  6. Cut the sandwiches in the center and serve warm with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

Notes

Ensure the curd is well-drained for the best texture. You can also add chopped vegetables for extra crunch.
