Description
A delightful treat combining strawberry and white chocolate, perfect for Valentine’s Day gatherings.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Chex cereal (divided)
- 3/4 cup strawberry cake mix (the powder, not prepared)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup red candy melts (heaping)
- 3/4 cup white candy melts (heaping)
- 1 cup Valentine M&Ms
- 2 TBS Valentine sprinkles
Instructions
- Separate the Chex cereal into two large bowls, placing three cups in each bowl.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix and powdered sugar. Set aside.
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave the red candy melts at 50% power, heating in 1-minute increments until smooth. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the melted red candy over one bowl of Chex mix, gently stirring to coat the cereal thoroughly.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a gallon-sized ziplock bag, then scoop in 3/4 cup of the cake mix mixture. Seal the bag and shake it until the cereal is evenly coated. Pour it out onto parchment paper.
- Repeat the melting process with the white candy melts until smooth.
- Pour the melted white candy over the second bowl of Chex mix and stir to coat. Transfer this to another ziplock bag and mix with another 3/4 cup of the cake mix mixture. Shake to coat and pour it onto parchment paper.
- Once both batches are cool and set, combine the red Chex mix, white Chex mix, M&Ms, and Valentine sprinkles in a large bowl. Mix well.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to two days.
