Description

A delightful dish featuring fresh tomatoes, flaky puff pastry, and cheese, perfect as an appetizer or light meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4-5 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as mozzarella or goat cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and place it on a baking sheet.
  3. Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before garnishing with fresh basil.
  8. Cut into slices and serve warm.

Notes

Best served warm. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
