Description
A delicious twist on a classic dish combining juicy ground beef, savory bacon, creamy Swiss cheese, and earthy mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan.
- Cook the bacon until crispy. Remove it from the pan and set aside. In the same bacon fat, sauté the mushrooms until browned.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Gently mix in half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet. Press the rest of the cheese, mushrooms, and bacon on top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
Use high-quality bacon for the best flavor. Let the meatloaf sit for a few minutes before slicing to help it hold its shape.
