Description

A delicious twist on a classic dish combining juicy ground beef, savory bacon, creamy Swiss cheese, and earthy mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy. Remove it from the pan and set aside. In the same bacon fat, sauté the mushrooms until browned.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gently mix in half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet. Press the rest of the cheese, mushrooms, and bacon on top.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Use high-quality bacon for the best flavor. Let the meatloaf sit for a few minutes before slicing to help it hold its shape.
