Description
A delightful appetizer combining sweet pineapple and savory kielbasa, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 14 oz. beef kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch chunks
- 20 oz. can pineapple chunks, drained, reserving about 1 tablespoon of the juice
- 3 Tbsp. Teriyaki sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sweet chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. reserved pineapple juice
- 1 tsp. neutral cooking oil
- Plain toothpicks
Instructions
- Slice the beef kielbasa into bite-sized chunks, about 1/2 inch thick. Set aside.
- Drain the canned pineapple chunks, reserving at least 1 tablespoon of the pineapple juice. Set the pineapple aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the Teriyaki sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey, and reserved pineapple juice until smooth.
- Heat 1 teaspoon of cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add kielbasa chunks and sear for 3-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet.
- Add drained pineapple chunks to the same skillet. Reduce heat to medium, pour the glaze over the kielbasa and pineapple, and stir to coat.
- Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the glaze thickens. Remove from heat.
- Serve warm, skewering the kielbasa and pineapple onto toothpicks for easy eating.
Notes
Serve immediately for best flavor. Can be made ahead, but final assembly is best just before serving.
