Description

A delightful appetizer featuring creamy spinach and cheese wrapped in flaky pastry, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen chopped spinach (10 oz) – thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz) – softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry – thawed but cold
  • 1 egg – for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  2. Squeeze excess moisture from the thawed spinach and add to the mixture, stirring until even.
  3. Flour a counter and roll out the puff pastry, spreading the spinach mixture on it and leaving one long edge empty.
  4. Roll the pastry tightly into a log and wrap in plastic wrap, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Slice the log into half-inch rounds and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Beat the egg with a splash of water and brush the mixture on top of the pinwheels.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed up.
