Description
A delicious and comforting casserole made with tender potatoes, hearty ham, and gooey cheese, all cooked in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced (russet or Yukon gold)
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Add half of the diced ham on top of the potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the ham.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk and cream of mushroom soup.
- Pour half of the milk mixture over the layers in the slow cooker.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, ham, cheese, and milk mixture.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes (6-8 hours) or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. You can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken soup.
