Description

A delicious and comforting casserole made with tender potatoes, hearty ham, and gooey cheese, all cooked in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced (russet or Yukon gold)
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. Add half of the diced ham on top of the potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the ham.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the milk and cream of mushroom soup.
  5. Pour half of the milk mixture over the layers in the slow cooker.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, ham, cheese, and milk mixture.
  7. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes (6-8 hours) or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. You can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken soup.
