A simple and delicious slow cooker dish combining the sweetness of brown sugar with savory garlic and soy sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, white vinegar, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them.
- Cook on low for 240-360 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
- To thicken the sauce, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, add it to the sauce in the slow cooker, and cook on high for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve the shredded chicken with the sauce, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for a juicier option and consider browning the chicken before slow cooking for extra flavor.
