Description

A simple and delicious slow cooker dish combining the sweetness of brown sugar with savory garlic and soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, white vinegar, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them.
  3. Cook on low for 240-360 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  5. To thicken the sauce, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, add it to the sauce in the slow cooker, and cook on high for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Serve the shredded chicken with the sauce, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for a juicier option and consider browning the chicken before slow cooking for extra flavor.
