  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Cold Water
  • 6 slices Bread (white or Texas toast)
  • 4 cups Mashed Potatoes

Instructions

  1. Season beef roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Layer sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Place seasoned beef roast on top of the onions.
  4. Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl and pour over the beef roast.
  5. Sprinkle dried thyme over the beef.
  6. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until the meat is tender.
  7. Remove beef, and mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry; stir into the remaining liquid and cook for 15 minutes until thickened.
  8. Shred the beef and mix back into the gravy.
  9. Serve beef on slices of bread topped with gravy and a scoop of mashed potatoes on the side.

Notes

For added flavor, consider searing the beef before slow cooking. Use fresh ingredients for a richer taste.
