Description

A hearty slow-cooked beef brisket in a rich barbecue sauce, perfect for gatherings and meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, ground cumin, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Rub the sauce mixture all over the brisket.
  4. Place the brisket in the slow cooker on top of the onion and garlic.
  5. Cook on low for 480-600 minutes or on high for 240-360 minutes, until the meat is tender.
  6. Remove the brisket and let it rest before slicing or shredding.
  7. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider searing the brisket before slow cooking. Adjust the barbecue sauce to your preference.
