Description

A deliciously juicy slow cooker recipe that combines pork with vibrant Asian flavors for a perfect meal anytime.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Pork Shoulder/Butt Roast
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha/Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Water


Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, fresh ginger, sriracha, and white pepper.
  3. Place the pork pieces in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until the pork is tender.
  5. Remove the pork and shred it using two forks.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, stir it into the sauce, and cook on high for an additional 15 minutes until thickened.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the sauce. Serve hot.
