Creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes baked to golden perfection, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- In a bowl, mix heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper, then pour half over the potatoes.
- Add half of the cheese on top.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use a mandolin slicer for uniform slices. Experiment with different cheeses or add cooked bacon for variation.
