Description

A succulent prime rib recipe infused with roasted garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for any special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 standing rib roast (prime rib), 5–6 lbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary and thyme)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Rub the standing rib roast with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped fresh herbs. Spread this mixture all over the roast.
  4. Place the roast fat-side up in a roasting pan.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
  6. Continue cooking for about 90 to 120 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
  7. Rest the roast for 20-30 minutes before slicing to serve.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness. Let the meat rest before slicing.
