Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh spinach (or 2 bags, chopped)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic and sauté until softened.
- Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the top with bread crumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and crispy.
- Serve hot as a delicious side dish.
