Description

A creamy and cheesy delight with layers of thinly sliced potatoes in a rich four-cheese sauce, perfect for gatherings and cozy dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 types of cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, gouda)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, followed by salt and pepper, and mix in the cheeses until melted and smooth.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer the thinly sliced potatoes, pouring the cheese sauce over each layer.
  5. Repeat this process until you’ve used all the potatoes and cheese sauce, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Slice potatoes evenly for better cooking. Experiment with cheese varieties for different flavors. Allow the dish to rest after baking for easier serving.
