Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda

- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1–2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 16 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- Start by baking the cheesecake layer for 40–45 minutes.
- Once done, let it chill.
- For the red velvet cake layers, increase the oven temperature to 350°F and bake them for 25–30 minutes.
- Allow the layers to cool completely after baking.
- To make the cream cheese frosting, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla together until smooth.
- Assemble your cake by layering the red velvet cake, cheesecake layer, and the cream cheese frosting.
- Spread frosting over the entire cake.
- Chill the assembled cheesecake for 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Be precise with your measurements, especially for baking powder and baking soda.
