Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 12 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. Start by baking the cheesecake layer for 40–45 minutes.
  3. Once done, let it chill.
  4. For the red velvet cake layers, increase the oven temperature to 350°F and bake them for 25–30 minutes.
  5. Allow the layers to cool completely after baking.
  6. To make the cream cheese frosting, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla together until smooth.
  7. Assemble your cake by layering the red velvet cake, cheesecake layer, and the cream cheese frosting.
  8. Spread frosting over the entire cake.
  9. Chill the assembled cheesecake for 1 hour before serving.
