Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat together pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate small bowl, dissolve baking soda in milk and add to the pumpkin mixture.
- Add in the flour mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop, place scoops of dough onto prepared sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For the best flavor, use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. For a richer taste, consider using dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet.
