Description

Delicious bite-sized Philly cheesesteak sliders made with ground beef, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (85% lean preferred)
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns (soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls)
  • 68 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 tablespoons (56g) butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil (for sautéing)
  • Optional: hot sauce, sliced jalapeños, pickled peppers, mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until soft and golden, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned, about 5–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning as desired.
  6. Evenly spoon the beef mixture over the bottom half of the buns and layer provolone slices on top.
  7. Place the top half of the buns over the filling. Brush melted butter mixed with garlic powder over the tops of the buns.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5–7 minutes until golden.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes, then cut along the bun lines. Serve hot.
