Description

A delicious low-carb casserole that brings all the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak in a satisfying dish, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 fat ratio preferred)
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 2 large bell peppers (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 8 oz provolone cheese (sliced)
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onions and bell peppers to the hot oil; cook for 5-6 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  5. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper, cooking for 7-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  6. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Reduce heat to low and add cream cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and spread evenly. Layer provolone over the beef, then top with mozzarella.
  8. Bake for 22-25 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality ground beef for best flavor. Adjust seasonings according to your taste and experiment with cheese varieties for different flavors.
