Description

A convenient and flavorful pepper steak dish made in a crock pot, combining tender beef, bell peppers, and onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef steak, sliced into strips
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef strips until browned on all sides.
  2. Transfer the beef to the crock pot.
  3. Add sliced bell peppers and onions on top of the beef.
  4. In a bowl, mix beef broth, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Pour over the beef and veggies in the crock pot.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or high for 240 minutes (4 hours). Serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, mix an additional tablespoon of cornstarch with water and stir it into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
