Description
A convenient and flavorful pepper steak dish made in a crock pot, combining tender beef, bell peppers, and onions.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef steak, sliced into strips
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef strips until browned on all sides.
- Transfer the beef to the crock pot.
- Add sliced bell peppers and onions on top of the beef.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Pour over the beef and veggies in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or high for 240 minutes (4 hours). Serve hot.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, mix an additional tablespoon of cornstarch with water and stir it into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
