Description

A delightful, easy-to-make meal combining ground turkey with tender orzo pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup spinach (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until they are softened and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the orzo, diced tomatoes (with juice), chicken broth, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is fully cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. If using, stir in the spinach until wilted and incorporated into the dish.
  6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, you can add cream cheese or shredded mozzarella. Adjust the chicken broth to achieve your desired consistency.
