Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Optional: 2 tablespoons cream cheese or sour cream
- Optional: chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
- Pour in whole milk and water, then bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the pasta and cook according to package instructions, stirring occasionally.
- Once the pasta is al dente, reduce the heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add cream cheese or sour cream if desired.
- Remove from heat and let it sit to thicken slightly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or basil if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for better flavor. Adjust consistency of the sauce with extra water or milk as needed. Don’t overcook the pasta to avoid a mushy texture.
