A delightful one-pan dish combining creamy orzo, savory chicken sausage, and healthy broccoli.
Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 chicken sausages, sliced
- 2 cups steamed broccoli
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo pasta and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Gently fold in the steamed broccoli and grated parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm and enjoy your one-pan meal!
Notes
For added flavor, try using different kinds of chicken sausage. Substitute fresh broccoli with frozen, and consider adding red pepper flakes for a bit of spice.
