Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Spread ketchup over the top, and sprinkle with brown sugar if desired.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through.
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
