Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onions are translucent.
- Stir in kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine.
- Allow the chili to simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
For spicier chili, add jalapeño peppers or cayenne pepper. Let the chili sit for an hour or longer for the flavors to deepen. Use fresh spices for the best flavor.
