Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- Cooked rice or chow mein for serving
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips for even cooking.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken strips for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté minced ginger and garlic in the skillet until fragrant.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until the sugar dissolves.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, pour the sauce over, and stir to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add chopped green onions, mix well, and serve hot over rice or chow mein.
Notes
For extra flavor, use fresh ginger and garlic. Adjust spice levels by adding more red pepper flakes if desired.
