Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  8. Serve plain or topped with fresh berries and whipped cream.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Measure flour correctly to avoid a dense cake. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake light and fluffy.
