Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread the beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Layer the remaining slices of potatoes on top.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth and sour cream; pour over the layered potatoes and beef.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Slice the potatoes thinly for even cooking. Add vegetables like bell peppers for more flavor. For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
