Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs (bone-in and skin-on)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the thighs with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the chicken thighs in the skillet, skin-side down, and sear for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the thighs and sear for another 2 minutes.
- Remove the thighs from the skillet and melt butter with garlic in the same skillet.
- Return chicken thighs to the skillet, skin-side up, and sprinkle with thyme leaves and lemon juice.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs like rosemary or adding honey to the lemon juice.
