Description

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in and skin-on)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  3. Season both sides of the thighs with salt and black pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the chicken thighs in the skillet, skin-side down, and sear for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip the thighs and sear for another 2 minutes.
  7. Remove the thighs from the skillet and melt butter with garlic in the same skillet.
  8. Return chicken thighs to the skillet, skin-side up, and sprinkle with thyme leaves and lemon juice.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs like rosemary or adding honey to the lemon juice.
