Description

Delicious and comforting Japanese Katsu Bowls featuring crispy breaded pork cutlets served over fluffy rice and fresh vegetables with savory tonkatsu sauce.

Ingredients

  • Pork cutlets
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • All-purpose flour
  • Eggs
  • Tonkatsu sauce
  • Cooked rice
  • Vegetables (like shredded cabbage or carrots)
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rice according to package instructions.
  2. Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Season the pork cutlets with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, dip in egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the breaded pork cutlets until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.
  6. Serve the sliced pork cutlets over the cooked rice, drizzled with tonkatsu sauce, and garnish with your choice of vegetables.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying the pork to achieve a crispy texture. Use a meat mallet to pound the pork cutlets evenly for better cooking.
