A delightful dish that combines the sweetness of corn with a creamy sauce, perfect as a side dish for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 10 ounce bag frozen corn (or canned corn, drained well)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (or plain salt)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- Pinch of garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (salted)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (or shredded Parmesan)
- Fresh cracked pepper & salt (to taste)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk the milk and flour together and set aside.
- In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, add the whipping cream, seasoned salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and butter. Mix as the butter melts.
- Once melted, stir in the corn and then add the milk and flour mixture.
- Continue stirring over medium heat until the sauce thickens and the corn cooks through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until completely melted.
- Season with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh corn in peak season for a sweeter flavor. Adjust the creaminess by adding more or less cream based on preference.
