Description

Hanky Panky is a classic appetizer of ground beef, sausage, and creamy Velveeta cheese served on crispy bread, perfect for parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground sausage
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package of party rye or cocktail bread

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Reduce the heat to low, then add the Velveeta cheese and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir until the cheese is melted and well combined.
  3. Season with black pepper and stir to mix.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Place the party rye on a baking sheet and spoon the mixture evenly onto each piece.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the bread are toasted and the mixture is heated through.
  7. Serve warm as an appetizer.

Notes

Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content. You can add chopped onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
