Description
Hanky Panky is a classic appetizer of ground beef, sausage, and creamy Velveeta cheese served on crispy bread, perfect for parties.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground sausage
- 8 ounces Velveeta cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package of party rye or cocktail bread
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Reduce the heat to low, then add the Velveeta cheese and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir until the cheese is melted and well combined.
- Season with black pepper and stir to mix.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the party rye on a baking sheet and spoon the mixture evenly onto each piece.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the bread are toasted and the mixture is heated through.
- Serve warm as an appetizer.
Notes
Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content. You can add chopped onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
