Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package of rye bread or party rye
- Parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, pork sausage, and chopped onion until browned and softened; drain excess fat.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place rye bread slices on a baking sheet.
- Spoon the meat and cheese mixture onto each slice.
- Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crisp.
- Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
