Description

Savory bites made with ground beef, pork sausage, and melted cheddar cheese, perfect for parties and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package of rye bread or party rye
  • Parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, pork sausage, and chopped onion until browned and softened; drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Place rye bread slices on a baking sheet.
  6. Spoon the meat and cheese mixture onto each slice.
  7. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crisp.
  8. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Can be prepared in advance; leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
