Description

A delicious twist on the classic beef Stroganoff, this dish combines savory flavors with creamy textures, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with a little bit of sour cream to create a slurry. Stir this mixture into the skillet, followed by the rest of the sour cream.
  5. Cook on low heat until the sauce is thickened, about 5-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and serve the beef stroganoff over the noodles.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Make sure to drain the fat from the ground beef to keep the dish from being greasy. You can use a variety of mushrooms for added flavor.
