Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour with a little bit of sour cream to create a slurry. Stir this mixture into the skillet, followed by the rest of the sour cream.
- Cook on low heat until the sauce is thickened, about 5-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and serve the beef stroganoff over the noodles.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Make sure to drain the fat from the ground beef to keep the dish from being greasy. You can use a variety of mushrooms for added flavor.
