Description
A delightful twist on traditional chili, featuring ground beef and the unique flavors of gochujang, a Korean chili paste.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons gochujang
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the pot, cooking until softened.
- Stir in black beans, diced tomatoes, gochujang, soy sauce, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.
Notes
Can be served with rice or cornbread. A dollop of sour cream or shredded cheese complements the spice well.
