This Go-To Meatloaf is a classic comfort food, easy to make and perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For glaze: 1/2 cup ketchup and 2 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, ketchup, barbecue sauce, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and brown sugar for the glaze and spread it over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Make sure to mix the ingredients well for a uniform flavor. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the meatloaf tough. You can add your favorite herbs and spices to customize the flavor.
