A delicious recipe for chicken thighs that are juicy, tender, and fall-off-the-bone, making for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup of chicken broth
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
- Drizzle the chicken thighs with olive oil and coat them evenly.
- Generously sprinkle the spice mixture over the chicken thighs.
- Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for 5 minutes.
- Flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and chopped garlic to the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, allow chicken to rest before serving to lock in juices.
