A delightful seasonal treat that combines the rich flavors of eggnog with a tender, moist bread, topped with a perfectly crunchy crumb topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup eggnog
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat together the softened butter, eggnog, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the crumb topping by mixing together brown sugar, oats, flour, and ground cinnamon.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the crumb topping, layer on the remaining batter, and top with the remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients and allow eggs and butter to reach room temperature for the best results.
