Description

A delightful seasonal treat that combines the rich flavors of eggnog with a tender, moist bread, topped with a perfectly crunchy crumb topping.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the softened butter, eggnog, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, prepare the crumb topping by mixing together brown sugar, oats, flour, and ground cinnamon.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the crumb topping, layer on the remaining batter, and top with the remaining crumb mixture.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients and allow eggs and butter to reach room temperature for the best results.
