Description

A hassle-free and delicious Crockpot Chicken Marsala recipe featuring savory chicken and a rich Marsala sauce with tender mushrooms, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine. Feel free to add any desired herbs at this time for extra flavor.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken in the crockpot. Pour the sauce over the chicken and then top with the sliced mushrooms.
  5. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 360 minutes or high for 180 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  6. Before serving, stir in the heavy cream for a rich and creamy finish.

Notes

For added flavor, consider searing the chicken breasts before adding them to the crockpot. Serve on a bed of greens for a lighter meal.
