Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine. Feel free to add any desired herbs at this time for extra flavor.
- Place the seasoned chicken in the crockpot. Pour the sauce over the chicken and then top with the sliced mushrooms.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 360 minutes or high for 180 minutes until the chicken is tender.
- Before serving, stir in the heavy cream for a rich and creamy finish.
