Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery to the skillet and cook until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker and pour in beef broth.
- Add frozen peas on top.
- Spread the prepared mashed potatoes over the mixture evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or until heated through and flavors meld.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For a healthier twist, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a meat alternative. You can also add more vegetables like corn or bell peppers to the filling.
