A delightful dish combining crispy fried chicken with a sweet and tangy orange sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
- Set up a breading station with flour mixed with a pinch of salt in one bowl, and the beaten eggs in another.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly with flour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers (about 350°F).
- Fry the chicken pieces in batches, cooking each side until golden brown (approximately 4-5 minutes per side).
- In a separate saucepan, combine the orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and ginger powder. Simmer the mixture until it slightly thickens (about 5 minutes).
- Toss the fried chicken pieces with the orange sauce until they are well-coated.
- Serve immediately over rice or noodles for a satisfying meal.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and garlic beforehand. Maintain oil temperature while frying for best results.
