Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla or white cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 cup Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • Red sanding sugar
  • Green sanding sugar


Instructions

  1. Combine the cake mix, Cool Whip, egg, and vanilla until a thick dough forms. (2 minutes)
  2. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to firm it up.
  3. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll in powdered sugar. (3 minutes)
  4. Dip the tops lightly into red or green sanding sugar. (2 minutes)
  5. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart. (1 minute)
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until puffed and cracked.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Notes

Make sure Cool Whip is fully thawed. Chill the dough for best shape during baking. Use a cookie scoop for even cookies.
