Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or your favorite mix-ins)
  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop dollops of cookie dough onto the baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  8. Let cool on the sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
