Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, use lean ground beef. Customize with vegetables or spices to suit your taste.
