Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Vegetable or canola oil, enough to fill skillet about 1 inch
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) to keep chicken warm between batches.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil, adding a rack if available.
  3. In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients and set aside.
  4. Pour vegetable or canola oil into a skillet, preparing for frying the chicken.
  5. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until crispy, then remove and keep warm.
  6. Coat chicken pieces with sauce and serve garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Marinate chicken for better flavor and fry in small batches for perfect crispiness.
